Overcoming Evil

October 12, 1981

Evil is not to be overcome by opposing the evil with a contrary, negative force, but rather by promoting that which is good and makes the evil unattractive and unnecessary.

Perhaps the present banking evil is to be overcome not by opposing fiat money, but by promoting real money and its use.

Fighting evil gives evil a reason for strength.  Ignoring evil causes it to wither and die.  Evil has no excuse for existence except to oppose the good.

Temptation should not be fought, but ignored.

One should not resolve to resist and oppose evil, but rather to give it no place in one's thoughts.

One should seek to understand better the good, rather than to understand the schemes of evil.  Good is always the same.  Evil is always changing.
